Josh Rubin was born on the mean streets of New Haven, CT, just in time to watch Michael Jordan play in the NCAA championship later that night.
Josh attended Syracuse University, where he majored in Film. He wrote and directed his (semi-autobiographical) thesis BELOW THE RIM about a short Jewish kid with aspirations of playing in the NBA.
After college, Josh lived in New York City and worked in post-production; he then moved to Los Angeles and worked for Jimmy Miller at Mosaic and Tom Warner at Good Humor TV/the Boston Red Sox. He was then the Writers’ Assistant on Season one of TNT’s AGENT X and the inspiration for the character ‘Josh Robin’ (portrayed by Kip Pardue Remember the Titans, Rules of Attraction).
Josh writes both comedy and drama and has mastered impressions of a wide variety of characters, including Elmo and Bill Cosby. Josh’s additional work includes an original drama basketball pilot and the animated shorts, THE PUNDIT and MARTIN THE FARTIN’ DRAGON.
